Jones Energy's goal is to be a leader in advancing the position of natural gas as the fuel of choice for North America.  To accomplish this, Jones Energy utilizes new, state-of-the-art technology to exploit shallow targets in mature gas-prone basins previously overlooked, despite current technology. 

The Jones family has been a pioneer in oil and gas exploration.  In that tradition, Jonny Jones founded Jones Energy, Ltd. in 1993 in Austin, Texas.  Jones Energy's activity is the catalyst for resurrecting exploration in shallow gas reservoirs in the western Anadarko Basin of the Texas Panhandle.  In honor of family exploration roots dating back to the 1920s, Jones continues to develop shallow gas fields, while shifting exploration efforts to bypassed deeper targets.  Jones Energy's most noted discoveries in the Texas Panhandle include the Patten (Krider) fields in Hansford County and the Hoover NE (Chase) field in Gray County.

Jones Energy continues to focus its efforts on the development and implementation of cost-effective exploration methods.  Through innovative ideas, such as combining the accuracy of 3-D seismic with increased well potentials from horizontal completions, Jones has achieved and maintained low finding and developing costs.
