David Cape joined Jones Energy in 2014 as VP of Land and Business Development and was promoted to SVP of Land and Business Development in 2015. Mr. Cape has over 30 years of experience in oil and gas land management. Prior to joining Jones Energy, Mr. Cape was Vice President, Land for Cypress E&P Corporation, a privately held exploration and production company primarily focused on the Eagle Ford play. Mr. Cape has previously held land management roles at Santos USA Corp., the US subsidiary of a large, multinational Australian-based company, and Sonat Exploration Company. He began his career at TXO Production Corp. Mr. Cape currently serves as an Advisory Board Member of the North American Prospect Expo (NAPE) and has served as President of the American Association of Professional Landmen. Mr. Cape earned his Certified Professional Landman designation in 1987 and holds a B.B.A. in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma.
