Land Manager
Mr. Hammond joined Jones Energy in 2006 having over 25 years of previous E&P experience. As a third generation oil industry person he was exposed to all areas of the business from an early age. He began his career in Williston, North Dakota with Hunt Energy in 1979. Mr. Hammond returned to Midland in 1980 to join Tom Brown, Inc., working primarily in the Permian Basin of West Texas and SE New Mexico as a landman and District Landman. In 1987, Mr. Hammond was picked to lead Tom Brown's, Inc.'s successful entry into the Arkoma Basin by establishing an office in Fort Smith, Arkansas and serving as District Manager. After Tom Brown divested its Arkoma holdings in 1996, he moved to Houston and continued working E&P in the Arkoma and Permian Basins for Vastar Resources, Inc. and BP America Production Company. Between 2004 and 2006, Mr. Hammond was employed at St. Mary Land and Exploration as a Senior Landman where his responsibilities included developing several company-operated waterflood units in SE New Mexico, pursuing 3D exploration opportunities along the Gulf Coast and assisting in the region's acquisition efforts. He is a member of the AAPL. Mr. Hammond received his BBA degree from the University of Texas in 1979.
