Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Jonny Jones has served as Chairman of our board of directors since 2009 and Chief Executive Officer since 1988. Prior to founding the company in 1988, Mr. Jones worked at BP as a production geologist. Mr. Jones is a third generation explorationist with over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry focusing on the U.S. Mid-Continent.

Mr. Jones is currently Chairman of the Texas Oil and Gas Association and serves on the executive committee of the US Oil & Gas Association. He received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 Award for Central Texas. He has previously served on the Advisory Council of the University of Oklahoma School of Geology and Geophysics and has been actively involved in fund raising efforts at the school. Mr. Jones is also a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist, Independent Petroleum Association of America and Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association.

Mr. Jones holds a BS in geology from the University of Oklahoma and an MA in geology from the University of Texas at Austin.
